REC4. The best thing that can happen is nothing at all

on .

Have you suffered a financial loss due to a trip of your residual current protection?

When you're not there, a trip of a residual current protection device can cause a significant financial loss

The function of an RCCB is to protect both people and installations anytime a leakage current is present. An RCCB gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you are properly protected when inside your home or work place.

However, an RCCB trip is not just caused by the presence of permanent leaks in the installation; it can also be caused by temporary currents resulting from phenomena as commonplace as thunderstorms.

Because of this, it's important to pay attention to the effects that an RCCB trip can have, especially when you're not there. This is because without an automatic reset, a trip will result in financial losses, in addition to affecting other systems in your installation.

REC4. The solution

The REC4 is an RCCB designed for all those installations where service continuity is essential. Available in 2 and 4 pole models, both feature a smart reclosing motor, which will make 3 attempts to safely and automatically reset the RCCB.

REC4. The solution

How is the REC4 installed?

How can an RCCB trip affect me?

Let's consider your primary residence: a trip from an RCCB can cause the food in your fridge to spoil, faults in your home information and automation system, or the failure of irrigation or pool cleaning systems in homes. The same thing can happen in your second home, but worse, since you might not be there for days or weeks, resulting in greater damage due to the time it takes before the RCCB is reset.

In restaurants or supermarkets, the problems caused by a protection trip are aggravated by the large costs associated with wasted food, not to mention the very likely financial impact due to lost revenue, as well as the cost associated with replacing the spoiled food in both businesses.

How does it work?

Timed or insulation reclosing system

Once a ground leak is detected, the device will try to directly reclose up to 3 times after a waiting period has elapsed (3, 20 and 180 seconds). It also measures the insulation, meaning it will only reclose once the fault that caused the original trip has cleared.

  • Minimises financial losses due to ground current trips in the installation.
  • Recloses the device once the fault that caused the trip clears.
  • High-sensitivity insulation readings to guarantee protection when reclosing.

Can I override the reclosing?

The REC4 features a reclosing override system by means of a mechanism on the front that is coupled to the ON/OFF switch. The device has a locking system to control operation in manual or automatic mode (reclosing enabled). It is also sealable, to make sure that no unauthorised individuals can tamper with its operation.

Can I override the reclosing?

Completely secure

  • Avoids reclosing if in direct contact with a person.
  • Manually overrides the reclosing via its sealable safety system.
  • Continuously indicates the device status via LEDs on the front.
  • 30 mA sensitivity to protect people.

Easy installation

Use it in installations with no space available in the electrical panel, only 3 DIN rail modules. You can replace your current system using the same space, with no additional wiring needed to install the self-reclosing system.

You will go back to the supermarket and all the food will still be fresh
An RCCB trip won't damage the food in your restaurant

REC4 protects all electrical installations requiring full electrical service continuity in the event of unforeseen incidents that cause the RCCB to trip for reasons other than electrical insulation.
